• Hello & Welcome!

Hi there! My name is Amélie Stoddard and I am a student currently attending Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon. In my free time you’ll find me kicking the soccer ball around, going on hikes, watching movies, attending concerts, painting, and taking photos around town. One of my proudest achievements was winning a National Gold Medal in Photography in Scholastic’s Art & Writing Awards. I received this award at Carnegie Hall in New York City where the comedian Tina Fey hosted the event. If you visit New York, please stop by Parson’s New School of Design where you will see my award-winning photo on exhibit through the summer of 2020. I have a passion for art and photography and believe these disciplines are what enrich our lives. I believe that art helps people to see and experience new and different ideas. With art, we are able to express our individualism and spirit and share our perspectives on how we view the world.

  • Giving back

    • As a photographer, I have discovered that many people are unable to afford professional photos. Many of these people would appreciate the opportunity to capture themselves looking their best, which leads to feeling good about themselves as well. I have realized that I am in the position to be able to provide this service to those less fortunate than myself. I contribute 15% of my earnings towards art supplies and photography services to Maryville Nursing Home in Portland, Oregon. I had the opportunity to spend time with residents at Maryville

  • my perspectives

    • I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so what’s most important in a photo is how YOU feel about how you look in the photo. This means that I will always ask you whether you would like to retake the photo during the shoot if you are not happy with it. Also, I offer retake shoots if you are not happy with the end product, free of charge.
    • Composition is an important aspect of a photograph. Don’t worry about not being able to position yourself correctly because I will help you select the best positions. My approach to photography is to make you feel as natural and comfortable as possible.
    • Unlike most professional photographers who charge a fee for each digital copy, I will provide you numerous selections of photographs without charging a fee for each copy.  My fees are also much cheaper than typical photographers who can charge up to $1300 for a photo shoot.
    • One aspect of my approach that separates me from other photographers is the editing process. When editing, many photographers create an artificial and airbrushed look.  When I edit, I do touch ups, but I want you to look as natural and authentic as you are.
